This week on Re:Fresh: we talk about Rick Santorum, a new drug called ‘Roflcoptr’, Nazi boardgames, rumors about the X-Box720, the good & bad sides of Microsoft, and tell you about the latest threat to internet free speech and expression: ACTA. We also examine the case of Megaupload, their founder Kim Dotcom, and an idiot by the name of Aaron Barr whose been trying to “infiltrate” Occupy by dying his hair blue. Oh, did I mention a dead guy got trailer trash pregnant? I couldn’t make this up if I wanted to…
Long before SOPA, Dotcom saw a potential market in taking advantage of the system—and ran wild with the opportunity. How wild? Here’s a look inside Dotcom’s life of excess—a lifestyle afforded to a guy who’s both tech savvy and unencumbered by business ethics, and who has a taste for shotguns, black Benzes, and wraparound shades.
Those may have included a mention on Threatpost about Barr’s “strange trip” to visit Occupy Wall Street in Zuccotti Park, where he dyed his hair blue in an attempt to fit in with protesters and see what they were up to. Barr’s name also appeared in a set of emails mistakenly released by another cybersecurity analyst he is friends with, Thomas Ryan. Ryan snuck his way onto an Occupy Wall Street email organizing list, forwarding some of those messages to FBI agents and then releasing a batch of them onto the web.
Cluley said Anonymous supporters have grown accustomed to clicking on links posted on the group’s Twitter accounts, some of which have more than 200,000 followers, to read press releases about their latest exploits. But this time, he said, Anonymous supporters who clicked on the malicious link joined the attack and may have accidentally broken the law.
But the biggest problem with ACTA is that there is very little known about it because most of the meetings held by countries has been kept secret on purpose. Once again the entertainment industry has managed to convince governments led by the United States - into pushing for laws and practices that do more to curtail privacy than they do to fight piracy.
Educate yourself (as well as possible) about ACTA and its effects.
Microsoft is being slammed for its new feature that some have dubbed the “avoid ghetto” app, although it still does not have an official name. The app is meant to help anyone traveling on foot avoid bad weather, tough terrain and unsafe neighborhoods, NPR reports.
Marriage equality in Washington would put employers here on an equal footing with employers in the six other states that already recognize the committed relationships of same-sex couples - Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont. This in turn will help us continue to compete for talent.
The IGN rumour says the next console will be out in October or November next year, and that it’s graphics processor will be based on the existing Radeon HD 6670. It also states that “In real terms, the Xbox 720’s raw graphics processing power is expected to be six times that of the Xbox 360 and will yield 20-percent greater performance than Nintendo’s forthcoming console, the Wii U.”
The brains of people tripping on magic mushrooms have given the best picture yet of how psychedelic drugs work and British scientists say the findings suggest such drugs could be used to treat depression.
'And so to embrace her and to love her and to support her and get her through this very difficult time, I've always, you know, I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created - in the sense of rape - but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you.

It seems North Korea was able to dig up enough coins to pickle dear departed leader Kim Jong Il after all. The country announced today that Kim’s embalmed body will go on permanent display in a Pyongyang mausoleum.
Whilst the Coroner will determine the exact cause of death, it appears Mr Black dropped his car keys down the storm water culvert and had attempted to retrieve them. Police recovered a set of keys in the storm water culvert belonging to the deceased, as a result of a thorough scene examination.”
